Built around one of the biggest ochre deposit in the world, Roussilon is really unique. Steep alleys, stairs, old houses : the village reminds us that this pigment used to be its main revenue. After Gordes, Roussillon is the second most visited village of the Luberon, and was also awarded as one of the “most beautiful villages of France”.

As soon as you start wandering in the village of Roussillon, you will fall under its charm and its atmosphere . You will stroll with pleasure in the picturesque maze of alleys and small squares. The houses facades will show you wonderfully the result obtained thanks to the ochres. Since the Pignotte square, you’ll enjoy an amazing view.

By visiting the Academy of Ochres and Colors, located in an old ochre factory, you will learn everything about ochre exploitation and transformation.

You can also discover Roussillon unique natural heritage through the ochres hiking path. The bike route called “the ochres by bike”, we’ll make you discover the shimmering landscapes of the Luberon.
