The village of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence nestles between Avignon and Arles : you’ll enjoy beautiful restored houses, mansions from the Renaissance period and from the XVIIIth century, chapels, convents,… An amazing heritage, enriched by the archaeological site of Glanum and the Antiques.

The village, which witnessed Nostradamus birth, has been and is still an inspiration for many artists. You’ll see many workshops and art galleries, while walking in the center of the village. By the way, the monastery of Saint-Paul de Mausolée, real jewel of the Provencal Roman art is well known for having hosted and inspired Vincent Van Gogh in 1889.

Saint-Rémy is the typically Provencal way of life. While wandering along the shaded boulevards, the squares, the old fountains, and the café terraces, you’ll discover many local products.

The olive trees fields and the vineyards shape the landscapes to offer you a large range of flavours : an olive oil which reputation goes far beyond the french borders, a wine labeled as AOC Les Baux de Provence, with vineyards that are mostly organic. Every Wednesday morning, you’ll enjoy the farmers market, with its local products.

The activities

Saint Rémy de Provence managed to keep its traditions and its identity, thanks to its numerous events : the Artists Road, the Féria, the bulls events, the transhumance party, the horses fair and the flea market, the concerts and exhibitions.

At the heart of a well preserved nature, you will find a large range of activities in the Alpilles : hiking, mountain biking, horse riding, fishing, gliding, tennis, golf… Nearby, Arles is only 25kms away : the Camargue with its ponds, its swamps and its beaches will make you discover other horizons.
